SHIMANO Singapore (SPL) CSR committee organized a new initiative called "Family Bonding Through Fishing". The objective of this programme is to promote family bonding between students and their parents. And at the same time to promote fishing among the youngs.
SPL-MCS and CSR committee members conducted the training on Fishing techniques, Fishing Equipments, Environmental conservation and Fishing Safety which were conducted in school and at the Jurong lake park.

The 10-Nov-12 Fishing Event marked the finale of this initiative. With the collaboration of 3 parties (Fuhua Secondary Schools, Loving Heart MSC-Jurong and Shimano) we managed to close the event with very much enjoyment and fun. The Guest-of-Honour, Mr Lee Ti-Seng, Desmond (Member of Parliment) graced the event. As these students are categorized under the special-care students, training the youngs are quite challenging for us.
Nevertheless, it was a great experience for all our trainers and facilitators. Aiming at addressing our corporate social responsibility, SPL donated $100 food vouchers to the students and they too make a good day's catch during the fishing competition. "It's Wonderful Fishing says it all!"
