Shimano Continues Support Independent Framebuilders at NAHBS 2013
Company Focuses on Alfine Components at Tradeshow

IRVINE, Calif. (February 7, 2013) – Shimano continues its sponsorship of the North American Handmade Bicycle Show (NAHBS) for 2013 and will use the event as a showcase for its latest products with a pronounced emphasis on its Alfine pavement component line.

“Shimano is excited to support NAHBS because it is the primary event for these craftsmen to show off these one-of-a-kind bikes that push the bounds of creativity and possibilities with our products,” said Dustin Brady, marketing manager for Shimano. “We’re happy to support NAHBS as the show continues to grow and bring these pieces of art to a new city every year and further expand the culture of cycling.”

Alfine Mechanical and Alfine Di2 components enable framebuilders to enhance some of the most creative, custom bikes ever seen with precision shifting internal hubs, powerful braking and ultra clean aesthetics due to internal electronic wiring of Di2.

Shimano is involved in the Gates Carbon Drive™ Contest that offers over $11,000 in cash and prizes to builders at NAHBS, recently upping the prize purse for the best integration of Gates Carbon Drive and Alfine mechanical system. Five winners will be crowned in Belt Drive Bike Design Contest that is done in partnership with Shimano.
