PHOTOCHROMIC LENS
Photochromic (PH) lenses change visible light transmission percentages when exposed to UV light. No need to stop and change lenses during changing light conditions. When the surroundings are dark, the lenses are almost clear. When bright, the lenses turn a darker hue. SHIMANO eyewear features PH DARK GRAY 13%-62% transmission.

OPTIMAL PL MLC LENS
OPTIMAL PL (80% Polarized) Multi-Layer Coating Lenses reduce glare and reflections from pavement, water, and glass. Optimal PL lenses allow improved viewing of cycling computers and deliver a clear view with excellent distance perception. Optimal PL lenses’ visible-light transmittance is set at 12%-16%, making them ideal for riding on sunny days.

DESCRIPTION
The Optimal PL MLC lens is ideal for sunny conditions. The 80% polarization reduces glare from vehicle glass and makes water in the road more visible. As opposed to traditional polarized eyewear with a 100% filter, Optimal PL MLC won't obstruct your view of data on LCD screens. MLC (Multi Layer Coating) creates excellent depth perception and clarity. The inner surface is coated with an anti-reflection coating to prevent reflection from the back. Both sides of the lenses have super hydrophobic coatings to reduce water, dirt, and dust buildup, leading to a more natural view of the road.
