The Tour de France has always been the perfect showcase for new components and new bikes. In the run-up to this years' Grand Départ in the Vendée teams presented their new material one by one, and of course, Shimano was present to get a closer look at how the teams implemented recent innovations and improvements.

BMC TEAMMACHINE SLR01

This stunning anthracite frame, with beautifully rendered golden accents, could only belong to one man: Greg van Avermaet. The new DURA-ACE R9150 groupset is perfect for Greg, as the unique asymmetrical four-arm construction and broad Hollowtech II arm provide the optimal power transfer for his dynamite explosivity on the bike. DURA-ACE rim brakes provide precise stopping power, and, especially in combination with the DURA-ACE C60 carbon wheelset, add elegance and flair to this bike.

PINARELLO DOGMA F10

Shimano and Pinarello have once again teamed up to bring Team Sky the best of the best: Geraint Thomas’ Dogma F10 is a true symbol of dominance. From the improved control of the DURA-ACE Di2 R9150 dual levers and the updated SW-R9150 Satellite Shifter to the unparalleled precision of the rear derailleur, every component is aimed at achieving the ultimate in control and performance. The new concave downtube even saves 0.8 seconds/km compared to the Dogma F8, which means up to 2 minutes on 150 km! ‘G’ has previously shown his form and readiness in the Dauphiné Liberé, now there is nothing to hold him back during the Tour de France 2018.

SCOTT FOIL RC

Sleek, powerful and effective; these are the words that describe Adam Yates’ Scott Foil RC with DURA-ACE Di2 R9150 perfectly. Every component of the DURA-ACE drivetrain, designed through decades of experience, works together harmoniously to achieve the best results for the most demanding cyclists. Adam opted for DURA-ACE rim brakes to save weight and conquer mountain passes with speed and agility. The redesigned braking hoods improve ergonomics and the new Satellite Shifter (SW-R9150) lets him shift gear while riding on the bars. This ensures optimal confidence and handling, so he can focus all his energy on the arduous climbs in this Tour.

SPECIALIZED S-WORKS VENGE

Over 1.000 hours in the WindTunnel have resulted in the new S-Works Venge ViAS; an aerodynamic beast of a bike. The eye-catching cockpit with its PRO Aero riser bars and –17° PRO stem leads the vanguard against the wind. Shimano overhauled the DURA-ACE R91700 disc brakes with Ice Freeza technology to reduce drag and improve braking capability so that every component is specifically engineered to give Team BORA-HansGrohe that edge over the opposition. A killer modern color scheme finishes the job.
