Flat pedals aren't just a step on the way to SPD —they're a deliberate choice. When cornering aggressively or taking to the air, gravity riders need flat pedals that are thin, grippy, and allow them the freedom to react without being locked in.

However, defining "thin" is tricky.

Some pedals are only slim at the edges, which does little to improve grip performance. Others have bulges around the axle that can compromise grip or lead to thicker overall designs.

SHIMANO has engineered a solution to these issues and created truly flat pedals that offer more grip and stability.
