We create optimal last shapes by collecting and analyzing the measurement data from a large number of riders’ feet.
Comfort and pedaling performance are improved when riders’ feet fit securely in their shoes without needing to over-tighten the closure.

VOLUME TRAIL LAST for trail riding

The Volume Trail Last balances secure pedaling performance with walking comfort to support all aspects of trail riding. It offers a snug fit around the ball of the foot for enhanced power transfer and bike control, with extra room in the toes and heels to ensure walking comfort.

WOMEN’S SPECIFIC LAST

Our Women’s Specific lasts are tuned to ensure a better fit and performance for the smaller volume and narrower proportions of female cyclists’ feet.

TORBAL 2.0 provides significantly more flexibility on the left and right edges of the sole, allowing the shoe to react and move more naturally in intense riding environments.

TORBAL 2.0 delivers efficient pedaling for SPD and flat shoes by maintaining stiffness in the shoe’s center from the toe to the heel.

 

OUTSOLE

The pattern and quality of the materials used on an off-road outsole significantly impact its performance. SHIMANO off-road shoes feature high-quality rubber outsoles and patterns tailored for each type of riding surface, style, and course. Enduro-optimized SHIMANO ULTREAD GE outsoles are tuned for intense downhill riding and superior traction for challenging uphill sections off the bike.
Its grippy hexagonal tread, expanded Pedal Channel, and unique toe and heel patterns make this gravity-riding outsole proficient at handling technical descents and uphill climbs on slippery surfaces.

PEDAL CHANNEL

Our updated Pedal Channel has an extended channel shape and a wider pedal landing strip, allowing for more stable contact while unclipped.

STIFFNESS INDEX

Outsole stiffness is optimized for different riding uses.
More rigid options prioritize power output and less rigid options allow for greater walkability.

INSOLE TECHNOLOGY

DUAL-DENSITY TRAIL/TOUR INSOLE

This off-road insole supports trail riding and touring with its unique dual-density EVA foam design. The softer foam provides excellent cushioning, while the stiffer areas provide efficient pedaling performance. 

It comes standard in our premium GE9 enduro shoes but can also be purchased separately and used with several models. Please check the product’s page for full compatibility.
