Information of our new web service ”SHIMANO CONNECT Lab”

We are pleased to introduce our new web service “SHIMANO CONNECT Lab” that can analyze and manage ride data to all Shimano cyclist customers. This service enables your ride data uploaded on the cloud to be displayed as various graphs or maps, helping improve your cycling performance and boost your motivation. This web service is planned to be launched on June 29th at 21:00 (PDT).


What is happening to my data on Cyclo-Sphere? (Updated at June 30th)

 

All "ride", statistic and power curve (MMP) data uploaded to Cyclo-Sphere before June 18, 2021 (JST) can be transferred to SHIMANO CONNECT Lab.  You will need to create a SHIMANO CONNECT Lab account between June 30th and Late December, 2021 (JST) and accept the user's terms and conditions for the transfer to occur.

Please note: you can use your existing SHIMANO ID credentials from E-TUBE PROJECT or E-TUBE RIDE to access SHIMANO CONNECT Lab.

 


How long will it take to transfer the data once I agree to the terms and conditions?

 

Once you complete your registration, the transfer is almost instantaneous.

 


What will happen to any data I collect during the gap?

 

Data collected during this time can be uploaded to SHIMANO CONNECT Lab beginning June 30th (JST).

 


Why was Cyclo-Sphere discontinued?

 

With the transfer of certain Pioneer cycling assets to SHIMANO, the decision was made to develop a new web service that could support both SHIMANO and Pioneer customers.  In the future SHIMANO CONNECT Lab will add more features to benefit users of both products.

Please note that Pioneer cycle computers, power meters and related set up applications will continue to be supported by Pioneer.

 


Will there be a gap between Cyclo-Sphere and SHIMANO CONNECT Lab?

 

Yes, Cyclo-Sphere's service will end June 17th at 22:00 (PDT) and SHIMANO CONNECT Lab will launch June 29th at 21:00 (PDT).

 


How do I create an account with SHIMANO CONNECT Lab?

 

The URL required for registration will be announced on June 30th (JST).

 


Can I use my Cyclo-Sphere credential for SHIMANO CONNECT Lab?

 

No, you will need to create a new account for SHIMANO CONNECT Lab

 


What regions is SHIMANO CONNECT Lab available in?

 

On June 30th (JST), 2021 SHIMANO CONNECT Lab will be available in the following regions:

Will SHIMANO CONNECT Lab be available in other regions?

 

Yes, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Switzerland and Taiwan are scheduled to be added in 2021.

 


Can I use my SHIMANO ID credentials for SHIMANO CONNECT Lab?

 

Yes, you can use your existing SHIMANO ID credentials from E-TUBE PROJECT or E-TUBE RIDE to access SHIMANO CONNECT Lab.

 


Which cycle computers will work with SHIMANO CONNECT Lab?

 

>Type-1

 

Data from Pioneer SGX-CA600 with the latest firmware can be uploaded to SHIMANO CONNECT Lab by wireless connection.

Data includes: riding statistics(cadence, speed, riding track, etc.) and pedaling data (power data, force vector information).

 

 

 

>Type-2

 

Data from Wahoo ELEMNT / ELEMNT Bolt and Pioneer SGX-CA500 with the latest firmware can be uploaded to SHIMANO CONNECT Lab by USB cable.

Data includes:  riding statistics(cadence,speed,riding track, etc.) and pedaling data(power data, force vector information).

 

 

 

>Type-3

 

Data from FIT file compatible cycle computers such as Garmin Edge can be uploaded to SHIMANO CONNECT Lab by USB cable.

Data includes riding statistics(cadence,speed,riding track, etc.) and power data.

 


Will my Pioneer cycling computer work with SHIMANO CONNECT Lab?

 

Yes,it will.
