The Belarus rider earns his rainbow stripes.
Vasil Kiryienka crushed the competition as a he earned his rainbow stripes, and the first ever men's elite individual time trial gold medal for Belarus. Kiryienka came out blazing from the start and kept the flame burning as he led through all three time checks throughout the race. It was a race until the finish, as Vasil was neck and neck with Italian Adriano Malori through the last 1km, but powered through a tough 300m climb at the end to create a 9 second gap over Malori. Congrats on a great ride Vasil!
