Cycling component brand Shimano has signed a three-year agreement with professional cycling team LottoNL-Jumbo for the provision of wheels, chainsets, pedals and brakes, which will feature on the team's bikes in 2016.

In addition the agreement also includes Shimano cycling shoes and eyewear and PRO disc and tri-spoke wheels for time trial events.

As part of the deal with Shimano, the world's leading company in cycling components, LottoNL-Jumbo will be provided with full Shimano DURA ACE elite racing groupsets for use during the racing season and for training in between races.

The team's riders and mechanics will be able to specify the preferred set-up for each race and each rider, with Dura-Ace gear shifting options including either satellite shifters for the Spring classics, bar end shifters for TT events or standard STI shifters.

Chainset options will include 11-23T, 11-25T, 11-28T, 12-25T or 12-28T cassettes and 53-39T or 50-34T chainrings. LottoNL-Jumbo will use DURA-ACE wheels, ranging from deep section C50s to C24s, or PRO rear disc and front tri-spoke wheels specifically for time trials.

Footwear will be taken care of with Shimano's R321 or R320 carbon soled super stiff shoes and riders will have their choice of eyewear from Shimano's extensive range, including the new R715, R615 and Equinox 2 glasses.

We're very happy to have the best groupsets on our bikes again for next season," said LottoNL-Jumbo’s Managing Director, Richard Plugge.

Shimano components are incredibly reliable and have been race-proven time and time again. Riders trust the equipment to deliver them to the finish line. Shimano gives them one less thing to worry about during a race."

“A new addition to our agreement this year is Shimano’s R-Series eyewear. Having technology such as polarized and photochromic lenses with anti-fog, anti-scratch and hydrophobic treatments will be a huge advantage for protecting rider’s eyes in a multitude of conditions.”

Having athletes of the calibre of Robert Gesink and Sep Vanmarcke using Shimano equipment allows us to continually refine, test and develop our equipment with the very best riders."
