Handlebar Tape
You only touch your bike in three places, the handlebars, the pedals, and the saddle. If each of these touchpoints isn't just right, you could be sacrificing comfort, and/or performance.

A good grip on the handlebars is important, whether you're racing or out for a casual Sunday cruise. As you ride, your grip gradually wears the bar tape, exposing the slippery surface beneath.
Pedals and Cleats
ALIGNMENT
It's always a good idea to make sure your cleats are aligned. As they wear, it's possible for your cleat alignment to change.
WHILE BICYCLE PEDALS USUALLY LAST THE LIFE OF THE BICYCLE THE CLEATS CONNECTING YOUR CYCLING SHOES TO THE PEDALS CAN, AND DO, WEAR OUT.
A worn out cleat can cause your foot to unclip unexpectedly or may even get your foot stuck. Road SPD-SL cleats have colored pads on them, either red, blue, or yellow indicating degrees of float.
When the color fades and your pads are worn down to the base, it's time for the cleats to be replaced.
Unworn SPD-SL Cleat
The cleat is bright in color and the form of the cleat is still in tact. Alignment and attachment to the pedal, no amount of play under your shoes.
Worn SPD-SL Cleat
The cleat is starting to fade in color and is becoming worn on the edges or no longer visible. Also, the alignment with the pedal connection is off.
