LENS TECHNOLOGY
SHIMANO LENSES ARE ENGINEERED TO THE HIGHEST STANDARDS: OURS.

MULTICOATED LENS
SHIMANO lenses feature a Polyamide (PA) or Polycarbonate (PC) substrate for superior impact resistance, reduced weight, and performance in a wide range of temperatures.
Full UV400 anti-scratch coatings ensure a clear view under all conditions. All SHIMANO lenses feature decentered optics to provide distortion-free vision that reduces eye fatigue.

IMPACT TESTED
We impact test lenses to anticipate real world riding conditions to ensure that our lenses withstand and protect against small incoming obstacles, such as insects, branches, and pebbles.

HYDROPHOBIC NON-HYDROPHOBIC
HYDROPHOBIC TECHNOLOGY
All SHIMANO Eyewear features hydrophobic (HP) coatings applied to both the outer-and inner-lens surfaces to increase water-repellency and to keep lenses free from dust, oil, and dirt. A HP-treated lens stays cleaner longer and is easier to maintain.

RX TECHNOLOGY
The RX-CLIP transforms the standard SHIMANO EQUINOX into a prescription-ready sport frame. The clip attaches close to the lens for an optimized fit.
Photochromic (PH) lenses automatically change visible light transmission percentages when exposed to UV light, so riders don't need to stop and swap lenses when light conditions change. When the surroundings are dark, the lenses are almost clear. When it's bright, the lenses turn a darker hue. Our photochromic (PH) dark gray lenses were co-developed with the UCI World Team to preserve natural hues in bright to slightly cloudy conditions with a 13 - 62% range of light transmission.
