Our ABS also helps lower the risk of the rear wheel lifting and launching the rider over the handlebars when the front brakes are applied too forcefully.

Stay in control with SHIMANO ABS by Blubrake

Our ABS helps riders retain bike stability and stop safely on wet/dry pavement and rough surfaces* by keeping both wheels on the road and rolling. A speed sensor on the front wheel monitors wheel rotation and activates ABS if the wheel slows beyond what is expected for the bike's speed. When ABS is activated, the system applies modulated braking force on the front wheel to reduce the chances of the front wheel locking up and/or the rear wheel lifting.

*This ABS is not intended for steep downhill or aggressive mountain riding.

  • The compact control unit combines electronic and mechanical parts and can be neatly integrated inside a bike frame.
  • The external version (BS-AS300-O) can be added to existing frames with a bottle cage mount without any special modifications and is compatible with a wide range of frames and forks.
  • It is compatible with a wide range of SHIMANO brakes and e-bike styles.
  • It can be installed on bikes with wheel sizes ranging from 16 to 29 inches.
