Firmware Update to Improve the Power Meter Accuracy

On October 24, Shimano releases a new firmware for Shimano power meters and update the E-TUBE PROJECT Cyclist application, respectively.

By updating the firmware of the power meter and Di2 rear derailleur and using the latest version of the application, the accuracy of the power value of the power meter will be improved.

 

- Firmware FC-R9200-P (Ver.4.2.0), FC-R8100-P (Ver.4.2.0)

- Application E-TUBE PROJECT Cyclist Ver.5.2.3

Applicable Models

Shimano power meters, FC-R9200-P and FC-R8100-P. (FC-R9100-P and FC-R9200-PX are not included.)

Improvements

By pairing the power meter with compatible Di2 rear derailleurs* (by communicating the gear position information between the two components), the power value will be adjusted according to the inner and outer positions of the front gear, improving the measurement accuracy.

How to Set Up

Follow the steps 1-4 below to complete the update procedure and improve the accuracy of an output value of the power meter.

 

Step 1: Update the firmware of the rear derailleur

 

Step 2: Enable ANT communication for the rear derailleur

 

Step 3: Update the firmware of the power meter

 

Step 4: Pair the power meter and rear derailleur
