Over a century of history - the first Tour de France was held in 1903!
This is now the 105th edition of the Tour, with breaks during the two World Wars.
6 - There were originally 6 stages in the first Tour de France. There are now 21-stages over 24 days!
The youngest person to win the Tour de France was only 19 years of age!
The first American cyclist to win the Tour was Greg Lemond in 1986.
The 2018 Tour de France will cover 3,351km over 21 days of racing.
The race is almost 100% in France with just 15km through Spain during Stage 16.
There are 5 stages that feature over 200km in one day, with Stage 7 (231km) being the longest of the tour.
Cobbles make an appearance - during Stage 9, cyclists will take on 21.7km of cobbled roads.
176 riders from 22 teams will be present at the Grand Depart.
The Speed Returns - the 2018 Tour will feature one individual time-trial and one team time-trail.
