Shimano’s new head-to-toe product line fuses technology-driven performance and minimalist urban styling
Shimano’s new Explorer collection integrates together a broad line of technology-driven and stylish products for cyclists who commute, tour (on- and off-road), or ride for fun and fitness. Designed to perform as well off as on the bike, this cohesive collection includes: apparel, jackets, gloves, accessories, packs and bags and SPD and Click’r footwear.

Transit apparel offers clever technical features and subtle styling
Focusing on design, comfort and safety, the Transit range of apparel was created for anything from a cross-town commute to mountain touring. While simplistic and elegant on the surface, cleverly integrated technical features increase comfort and safety throughout the product line.
For safety during dawn, dusk or nighttime riding, Shimano has engineered new Discrete Reflectivity™ technology into the Explorer line. Ensuring comfort on and off the bike, select Transit apparel is constructed with moisture-wicking and quick-dry fabric featuring a Silvadur anti-bacterial treatment. This treatment uses silver ions which activate with perspiration and prevent unpleasant odors. Many Transit garments also feature UPF+ and UV protection for protection out in the elements.
The lightweight Transit Windbreak Jacket is a stand-out item with water repellent coating, adjustable waist, chest phone pocket and roll-up sleeves for versatility.
The men’s and women’s long- and short-sleeve Check Shirts, Polo Shirts and Jerseys feature bike-specific cuts and discrete chest and/or rear pockets.
The Explorer line also includes cycling-cut Transit Path Shorts and Transit Path Pants which are water repellent and constructed with a stretch fabric for pedaling ease. Both models have deep front pockets and discrete reflectivity on rear pockets or roll-up pant cuffs.
The Transit apparel extends to the hands with the complementary Transit Glove. Available in men’s and women’s colors and long- or short-finger designs, the long-finger gloves are designed to work with touch-screen devices.
SPD performance for exploring every terrain
The new RT5/RT5W and RT4/RT4W classically styled cycling shoes with perforated, breathable synthetic leather uppers are designed for walking comfort and compatibility with SPD pedals. Both represent a stylish new aesthetic and approach to the touring footwear segment.
The RT5 features three Velcro straps while the RT4 harks back to the classic era of cycling with lace-up styling and a simple closure for a snug and secure fit.
Explorer pedals provide versatility and reliability
In conjunction with multiple new Explorer footwear models, Shimano is introducing two new, dual-platform Explorer SPD pedals. Designed as an integrated system, Shimano pedals and footwear are optimized to work together.
Bags for adventures near and far
Whether it’s riding to work or carrying gear for more active endeavors, the 23-litre or new smaller 17-litre Tokyo packs have riders covered with plenty of storage features and stylish new color options. For commuters a padded laptop pocket, document organizers and a grid of accessory-storage pockets. Complete with hi-viz rain cover, Discrete Reflectivity, water-resistant base, retention straps for helmets or locks, and an easyclose buckle with rolling closure up top, the Tokyo daypack complements the Transit line aesthetic, allowing riders to turn every ride into an adventure.
