What is SIS?

SIS = SHIMANO INDEX SYSTEM was introduced by SHIMANO in 1984. Each SHIMANO component group featured SIS.
SIS features a mechanism inside the shifter. Because of this mechanism you hear a ‘click’,every time you shift. The shifter and rear derailleur make a synchronised movement.

SIS, what does it feature?

Accurate shifting

By using the SHIMANO shifting lever, rear derailleur, multiple freewheel, chain, outer casing and cable guide, you can obtain an accurate, fast and smooth shifting performance.

Release cyclists from mis-shift
