Our Women’s Specific lasts are tuned to ensure a better fit and performance for the smaller volume and narrower proportions of female cyclists’ feet. We offer women’s specific designs for all our lasts to provide the optimal balance of support and comfort for a wide range of female riders.​

Our Surround Wrapping Upper surrounds the whole foot with a seamless piece of leather, which creates a better fit with fewer gaps between shoes and feet.

OPTIMIZED COMPOSITIONS

The midsoles in SHIMANO road shoes serve double duty: they are the source of stiffness and function as outsoles.

Our higher-performance models use carbon fiber or carbon reinforced outsoles renowned for their high strength-to-weight ratios. Entry models utilize a glass fiber midsole to deliver stiffness at a great value.

Outsole stiffness is optimized for different riding uses.
More rigid options prioritize power output and less rigid options allow for greater walkability.

STANDARD CUP INSOLE

Insoles are a vital interface between the rider’s foot and the shoe. SHIMANO road shoes feature targeted insole designs with optimal materials and features for each level of riding.

INSOLE for S-PHYRE

The S-PHYRE RC/XC9 racing insole has a dual-density cup sole with forefoot and heel ventilation to help keep feet cool and dry on intense rides. It comes with two arch pad inserts so riders can adjust the fit and support level of the shoes. The anti-slip surface holds feet in place to support pedaling efficiency.
 

CUP INSOLE

Our RC/XC7, 5 and 3 shoes have a 3D insole with a durable, high-density EVA heel cup that comfortably cradles your heel and keeps it reliably in place while pedaling.
 

FLAT INSOLE

RC/XC1 has a standard insole that provides essential comfort and support suitable for recreational or entry-level riders.
