TIAGRA-grade disc brakes (BR-RS405) with hydraulic calipers were announced today, giving riders the option of four SHIMANO road disc brake models to choose from.
Following the release of ULTEGRA-grade and 105-grade hydraulic disc brakes in 2015 and SORA-grade mechanical disc brakes in March 2016, Shimano now offers its fourth flat mount dedicated road hydraulic disc brake offering with today’s announcement of the BR-RS405 components.
The new TIAGRA-grade BR-RS405 hydraulic disc brakes are positioned below 105 and ULTEGRA level road brake system.

The chart below shows a side-by-side comparison of Shimano’s shifting and disc brake systems:

Shimano’s ST-RS405 levers and BR-RS405 brakes adopt the easy setup and maintenance technology, like funnel bleeding, used in other Shimano hydraulic brake components.
ST-RS405 and BR-RS405 hydraulic disc brake components will be available as an aftermarket purchase in July 2016.
