The updated DEORE XT mechanical groupset features a more robust, cable-actuated rear derailleur with SHADOW ES technology, delivering fast, reliable shifts, even under heavy pedaling. Riders can choose mid- or long-cage HYPERGLIDE+ 12-speed options for use with 9-45T or 10-51T cassettes, or a LINKGLIDE 11-speed version paired with an 11-50T cassette.
Borrowing design CUES from SHIMANO's Di2 electronic mountain bike drivetrains, the new DEORE XT mechanical rear derailleur features a slim, wedge-shaped chain stabilizer with no obstacle-catching edges. The low-profile design helps it deflect rock strikes, stump bumps, and trail debris, then spring back into position without missing a shift.

Shifting is handled by a new, more ergonomic DEORE XT mechanical shift lever, available in HYPERGLIDE+ (SL-M8200) 12-speed, HYPERGLIDE (SL-M8210) 12-speed for e-MTB, and LINKGLIDE (SL-M8230) 11-speed versions. Each features refined lever release thanks to a shorter stroke, crisper lever feel, and firmer second click.
