Reliability is further boosted by the DEORE rear derailleur's updated cage and solid pulley design, which work to minimize the risk of trail debris getting jammed inside the mechanism. And just like our Di2 offerings, it utilizes a wide link structure that further enhances rear derailleur robustness, while the slim chain stabilizer with dual spring construction ensures consistent shifting performance with no built-in service intervals.
This unique dual-spring design also increases spring force by 70 percent, which translates into tighter chain wrap and increased chain tension for better chain engagement. Even as cassette cogs wear out the chain continues to shift smoothly ride after ride.
The new DEORE rear derailleur is available in the long-cage option for both HYPERGLIDE+ (RD-M7200) 12-speed and LINKGLIDE (RD-M7230) 11-speed. And while the new derailleur does increase in cost compared to the previous DEORE model, it represents a renewed dedication to the robust needs of hard-charging mountain bikers. For those who prioritize cost over durability, the traditional design carries over in the updated RD-M6200 version for 12-speed HYPERGLIDE+.
