Expertise and passion for crafting made-to-measure bikes are at the heart of the Italian Passoni brand. Founded in the late 80's in the pre-carbon era by Luciano and Luca Passoni, it was the first company in Europe that produced titanium bikes when off-the-shelf tubing wasn't yet available. Every tube had to be made by starting from titanium sheets which were bended and welded into exceptional quality, bespoke bicycle frames. A passion for the sport and its culture has always been at the very heart of Passoni’s identity as they have spent the last 30 years building stunning machines for those with a true appreciation of fine craftsmanship. Passoni has always been a brand steeped in cycling history.

Manufacturing and building bikes in Italy and working with titanium will never be the easiest or most cost effective way, but it’s never been about that for Passoni.

Matteo Visentini, the brand’s project manager and son of the Giro d’Italia winner Roberto Visentini, is motivated by a simple, true love for the sport and a passion to create the perfect bike, crafted carefully for each rider.

As the sport has evolved, so has Visentini and his Passoni designs. In 2018, the company entered the world of gravel by releasing the Cicloprato to respond to the changing demands for adventure riding, without sacrificing Passoni's classic, signature style. Inspired by the mountains around Lake Como near Passoni’s Milan-based atelier, the Cicloprato is made to climb a mountain on a road that turns into a gravel track, that becomes a trail, it’s a friend to help a rider conquer all terrain. Composed of fast titanium, the Cicloprato is light but robust, comfortable but stiff, aiming to offer everything needed to perform on the rough stuff.

Above all, regardless of the changing demands of the modern rider, Passoni’s values will always remain the same. It’s about putting quality first, always prioritising the needs of the client, sourcing the finest materials and craftsmen, and never cutting corners, no matter the difficulties that may come along the way. The Cicloprato is designed for adventure when the road ends, a tempting invitation to go beyond the beaten path. And, like all Passoni bikes, it’s timeless, made from a labour of love and steeped in history and passion.
